local ska band from the north, Baguio ska style!!!

Formed in early 2000 by Baguio-born and bred brothers Bong and Kix Manansala, SPACEFLOWER "doobie" is an offspring of the brothers' experiment with a different sound genre: fusing classic jazz, soul, bossanova, mento and calypso (Jamaican style), rocksteady beat, two tone, blues, traditional reggae, bluebeat otherwise known as SKA.

Spaceflower is fronted by Bong, who is known for his outrageous stage antics and powerful voice; and Kix, a well-regarded guitarist (for his ability to handle a range of guitar styles) and arranger. They are joined by fellow Baguio music teachers Jeng Nufable (Rhythm Guitar), Adam Pimpinio (Bass Guitar), Buddha Mina (Drums, Percussions), Wally Darang (Trumpet), Carl Arguelles (Trombone), Jared Nerona (keyboards) and Louie de Guzman (Alto Saxophone).

In Baguio, the band released an independent album which sold well. They also contributed odd tracks for an Indies compilation album. Compilation of Shame n Skandals vol.1-4 from Shameless Records from Bulacan.
